A Mike Tyson super-fan paid a huge fee to have the boxing legend follow him on Instagram.

Tyson is one of the most recognisable figures in the fight game, having enjoyed an iconic boxing career.

At the peak of his powers, he reigned as the world heavyweight champion and was a dangerous knockout artist often winning his fights in the first few rounds.

At 20, Tyson became the youngest boxer to win a world heavyweight title when he beat Trevor Berbick to win the WBC world heavyweight title.

Tyson called time on his storied career in 2005 before coming out of retirement to face Jake Paul, with an exhibition against former pound-for-pound star Floyd Mayweather on the cards.

The 59-year-old remains one of the biggest cultural figures in the world of sport and has an army of fans, including one person who has splashed the cash to have ‘Iron’ Mike follow him on Instagram.

Goldin offered the chance to win an Instagram follow from Tyson in their final 2025 auction.

While Goldin regularly lists Tyson autographs and memorabilia, this digital item stood apart from the rest.

The auction received six bids, with the winning bid worth a whopping $3,304.

It is unclear who has won the Instagram follow, but the person joins an elite group.

Tyson, who has over 33 million followers on Instagram, follows just 299 accounts (at the time of writing), including the likes of former foes Lennox Lewis and Paul as well as UFC fighter Conor McGregor and UFC boss Dana White, among others.

The winner will be his 300th follow, joining a star-studded list of sporting greats and celebrities.

The same auction also featured the official fight contract from Tyson’s clash against Bruce Seldon, where he won the WBA world heavyweight title.

The document, signed by the boxer himself and legendary promoter Don King, gained notoriety as it happened to be Tupac Shakur’s final public appearance before his assassination.
