The atmosphere became somewhat uncomfortable during Tuesday evening’s instalment of BBC The One Show.
During the programme – which recently paid tribute to a legend following his death – hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp interviewed comedy legend Harry Enfield about his forthcoming tour.
Yet, whilst discussing his extensive career, Alex enquired about the origins of one of his notorious characters, Mr Don’t.
He responded: “Well, I had a girlfriend once whose father didn’t like me. I was only about 18, but he used to call me the ‘b word fool’. Everything I did was sort of wrong.
“He was actually really nice, but I was a bit younger than his daughter by six years, and he thought, ‘Oh no, I’m not having that’.

“Once do you know what he did? The worst thing. He got me up one morning and said, ‘Come on, Harry, you’re coming with me. ‘ Out to the pigs.
“He had some piglets, and it was the day the piglets were going to be castrated. He put plastic bags around their hem hems. He picked them up-“.
Interrupting, Roman questioned: “Where is this going, Harry? It’s a tea time show.”
Following Harry’s reassurance to the BBC presenter that it was acceptable, they permitted the comedian to finish his anecdote. He continued: “I had to hold the piglet then he’d get his knife, look into my eyes, and go woosh, like that.”

Nevertheless, it was evident Roman wasn’t pleased with his tale as he attempted to halt him when he recognised where the story was heading, reports Wales Online.
Undeterred, Harry explained the man ended up doing the same thing with around five piglets as a warning before The One Show star issued an apology.
Roman told viewers: “Apologies if you are eating dinner or anything like that.”
Elsewhere, the comedian made another remark about the current news headlines that was quickly shut down by both Alex and Roman, prompting Harry to later reply: “I’m scared to say anything now!” – although both BBC stars laughed and told him he was fine to continue.

It wasn’t long before people watching commented on Harry’s appearance on the programme, with many unimpressed with how he was treated by the presenters.
One viewer said: “What on earth is wrong with the imbecile BBC? Harry Enfield said nothing at all of any consequence, yet you could feel the atmosphere from here. Get a f****n grip and grow up for goodness sake. BCC beyond pathetic.”
Whilst someone else wrote: “I love Harry Enfield. Roman Kemp was rude there. Harry didn’t say anything wrong, and it ruined the interview.”
Someone else added: “What did he say wrong??! They just created a hostile atmos for no reason??! No way to treat a legend.” As one person commented: “Slight studio overreaction to a fairly mild Enfield anecdote.”
