GB News presenter Patrick Christys erupted on air after 𝘒𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘳 spearheaded a legal case that paved the way for hundreds of British soldiers to face prosecution for alleged war crimes. The Prime Minister donated his services for free alongside his close ally, Lord Hermer, now the Attorney General, and the now disgraced solicitor, Phil Shiner, in a human rights claim in 2007. This case transformed the legal framework covering troops in combat zones, according to The Telegraph.

Court documents uncovered show Sir Keir served as a lead barrister on the claim, which eventually forced the Ministry of Defence to launch new probes into Iraqi deaths. The ruling set off years of criminal probes targeting soldiers who were falsely accused, costing taxpayers vast sums.

Johnny Mercer, the former veterans minister, accused Sir Keir of “unleashing the witch hunt against British troops” in a furious e exposé in the Daily Telegraph. Now, the 34-year-old broadcaster has slammed the Labour leader in a furious on-air rant.

During his Tonight Show, the dad-of-one began: “Sir 𝘒𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘳 is being labelled a traitor and a national disgrace by our brave military veterans.

“He’s accused of taking part in a witch hunt against Britain’s military heroes and doing it all for free. I don’t think anyone in their right mind can think that man can be our Prime Minister after hearing these devastating revelations in today’s Daily Telegraph.

“According to the Daily Telegraph, 𝘒𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘳 argued that because British troops were in control of parts of Iraq during the Iraq war, the UK was therefore legally obliged to conduct fresh investigations into their behaviour under the European Human Right’s law.”

After reflecting on the report, he shared the three actions the politician should take next in order to restore the British public’s faith in his leadership. He went on: “What kind of a man works for free on a case that led to investigations of British military heroes.

“How has he ended up in charge of our great country? The mask has slipped for Sir 𝘒𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘳 over this. Sir 𝘒𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘳 should apologise to veterans, he should hang his head in shame, and he should resign.”

It didn’t take long before viewers flocked to social media to share their frustrations online, with one user penned: “He’s a weak, weak, weak man. He has to go.” Another agreed: “I’ve never witnessed a Prime Minister act in such a despicable way. Why would an army ever want to fight under his direction?”

A third chimed in with: “Leir Starmer must be debarred as a lawyer and return his knighthood. It is not acceptable to disgrace the law profession with predation on troops for personal financial gain and political cult ideology, racial motivations. The Labour Party lies in abject disgrace.”
