The Princess of Wales made her first appearance following the arrest and subsequent release of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on Saturday, 21 February, when she watched the England v Ireland rugby game at Twickenham in the latest round of the Six Nations tournament.

As always, she looked incredibly stylish for the solo outing but, more importantly, the 44-year-old chose to use her outfit to convey a strong message to the public as she broke cover.

The mother-of-three’s outfit was a full blue look, centred around her incredible royal blue coat from Alexander McQueen, which featured a structured silhouette, distinctive panelling on the front and a belted waist that flattered her figure.

She wore it over a black turtleneck, and rounded everything off with an oversized England Rugby scarf, which also happened to match the colour of her coat perfectly, in support of her home team for the match.

The British royal has worn this coat on multiple occasions before: first, for the Christmas Day walkabout in Sandringham in December 2023, and more recently during the German state visit in December 2025.

Shauna Colaci, a personal stylist and mindset coach, spoke exclusively to HELLO! about the meaning behind the colour choice, explaining that: “In colour psychology, blue symbolises trust, loyalty, and calm authority. It’s the colour of diplomacy – quietly powerful, universally flattering, and emotionally steadying. Perfect for a royal visit where every outfit is a message.”

Princess Kate’s Six Nations outing

On Saturday, the 44-year-old stepped out on her own for the latest round of the Six Nations; though she and Prince William have occasionally been joined by their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, for their sporty outings, the Princess of Wales flew solo this time around.

She was seen sitting with England player Fin Baxter, who is unfortunately having to miss out on the tournament as he recovers from foot surgery following an injury, and Deborah Griffin, the president of the Rugby Football Union.

Her trip to the game comes at a rather difficult time for the British royal family, just two days after the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and while searches are still being conducted in two of his royal residences.
