Amber Davies has broken her silence on the Strictly final
Strictly Come Dancing finalist Amber Davies has broken her silence with a lengthy message after missing out on becoming this year’s winner. The former Love Island star and her professional partner Nikita Kuzmin executed three incredible performances during the final, as did the other two celebrities, former footballer Karen Carney and YouTuber George Clarke. However, it was Karen and professional dancer Carlos Gu who walked away as this year’s victors, as they were presented with the Glitterball Trophy by hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly. Amber got particularly emotional during the tear-filled final after performing their routines, and she has taken to social media with some heartfelt words.
Taking to Instagram this afternoon, the West End star penned: “Hands down best night of my life! So unbelievably happy for you two wonderful humans @kazcarney @gkx_carlos.
“Thank you so so much to the guys for all the love and support over the last 4 months, I’ll never ever forget it, this has been a complete dream.
“Thank you Judges for believing in me and for all your support, it has meant the world to me @craigrevel @motsimabuse @shirleyballas @mrantondubeke. @tessdaly @claudiawinkle Congratulations on the most incredible run! I’m so glad I got to be a tiny part of your Strictly memory. And now time for a lil rest before @legallyblondeshow begins.”
Despite being top of the leaderboard with her partner Nikita during the final with an impressive 118 points, Karen was voted the winner by BBC viewers.
“I can’t believe it, it’s been the biggest privilege and honour,” Karen said after realising she’d won before adding she was “lost for words”.
The star’s football-themed jive to Blondie’s One Way Or Another gave them a standing ovation and a perfect score of 40, with scores of people of social media saying Karen deserved the accolade.
“I just want to say thank you to everybody that has supported our journey, and supported us,” Karen added.
