A Gogglebox star has dropped out of the Channel 4 finale after a devastating family bereavement.

Helena Worthington, 31, joined the cast in 2017 alongside her mum Alison and mum’s partner George.

The current 26th season of the programme is due to wrap up soon, but unfortunately Helena won’t be appearing in the final episode.

Opening up on Instagram, she sadly revealed that her nana has passed away and needs to take some time away.

Sharing a snap of her with her mum and nana, Helena wrote: ‘I’m not quite sure how to write this post.

‘This week I reached 20k on here, which feels huge and something I’m incredibly grateful for. But it’s also been a really rough week.

Opening up on Instagram, Helena revealed that her nana has passed away and needs to take some time away from the show

‘I lost my legendary nana, and because of that I won’t be filming the last episode of Gogglebox this series.

‘My nana played such a huge part in my life and loved me fiercely. She was the perfect mix of Dame Judi Dench and the Catherine Tate nana — sharp, hilarious, and she somehow knew the answers to every quiz show question.

‘She once flashed a vicar and stole the neighbour’s dog when they wouldn’t give my mum’s football back — which honestly tells you everything you need to know about her.

‘She was a true Queen.

‘Every time we met, we talked about Bob Mortimer on Would I Lie To You?, and she never missed an opportunity to tell absolutely anyone she met that her daughter and granddaughter were on Gogglebox.’

Helena went on to explain that the fact that her nana won’t meet her unborn daughter.

She continued: ‘I’m expecting a baby girl in the next month, and my heart aches knowing my nana won’t get to meet her.

‘But I know she’ll be part of her in so many ways — in stories, in humour, and in that same strength and warmth.

Earlier this week Helena revealed she is pregnant with her second child.

The TV star welcomed her first child, a son called Erwin, with her partner Dan in 2019. The couple are both artists.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Helena revealed she is expecting another baby as she shared a snap out gardening with six-year-old Erwin.

Helena’s baby bump could be seen under burgundy floral dress, which she paired with a knitted cardigan, a black quilted farm jacket and a Sofia knit hood.

‘Pregnant. Tired. Raging indigestion,’ she wrote. ‘Still crouching down to explain why we don’t dig up all the bulbs.

’33 weeks pregnant at RHS Bridgwater with my first baby, while waiting for my next one. We took Erwin here often when he was a new bean.’
