Following the release of three million pages of the Epstein files, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is once again at the centre of controversy as new details emerge. Formerly known as Prince Andrew, the 65-year-old was photographed kneeling on all fours over an unidentified woman lying on the floor.

He can be seen leaning over and touching the waist of the fully clothed woman, whose face has been redacted. It has now been confirmed that the photo, released alongside others on 30 January, was taken in disgraced sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s New York City mansion.

Reacting to the latest announcement on Sky News, royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills remarked: “We have been looking very closely, trying to pick apart exactly where those photos were taken. Of course, they were among the most surprising, some would say shocking photos that emerged from that latest drop of Epstein files over the weekend, seeing the King’s brother on all fours over a woman.”

Rhiannon clarified that there is “no suggestion” of wrongdoing and noted that the photographs were undated, making it difficult to determine exactly when they were taken. After a detailed review, Sky News’ data and forensic team confirmed the image was captured inside Epstein’s New York mansion.

They confirmed the location by analysing the distinctive white wall panelling, which they cross-referenced with another photograph showing Epstein having drinks with Hollywood director Woody Allen.

“You can see how much work our team have gone into to make sure that we can clearly say to you that these were taken within Epstein’s flat,” the presenter explained. “This in itself is interesting because it builds again, that bigger picture in terms of the contact that Andrew had with Epstein, the time that he spent with him.

“It’s important to reiterate that in Andrew’s latest public statement, which came back on the 17th October, 2025, Andrew reiterated that he vigorously denied any accusations against him.”

Rhiannon acknowledged that it would have been “an incredibly difficult weekend” for Andrew and the Royal Family, following the “incredible insight” Sky News has obtained into the relationship between Epstein and Andrew, as well as his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

She continued: “It is very telling that we can now confirm that those pictures were taken within Epstein’s New York flat.”

Although Andrew has said he met Epstein in New York to “call off their relationship,” additional emails show that contact between the two men continued beyond December 2010 – two years after Epstein was convicted of procuring a child for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute.

However, Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing or allegations related to his former friendship with Epstein.
