GB News was halted for an urgent alert on the Israeli air strikes. The US and Israel have launched joint airstrikes on Iran’s capital and several other parts of the country. Cameron Walker and Olivia Utley fronted Saturday’s programme, announcing that 24 people, including five students, have been k!lled after a girls’ primary school in Minab, southern Iran’s Hormozgan province, was targeted in Israeli strikes.

Cameron said: “In the last few moments, we’ve had some breaking news reporting that at least 24 people have been k!lled in an Israeli strike on a school in Iran’s southern county of Minab. Various reports suggest that it’s a girls elementary school with five students being k!lled. This is going to be leading to civilian casualties on both sides of the conflict.”

In a separate breaking update, GB News’ Home and Security Editor Mark White commented on footage of missile interceptions flying over a hotel rooftop in Dubai.

He said: “You’re looking at images there of just how concerning this is for the many people from right around the world that are in that region.

“This is on a hotel rooftop in Dubai. The camera is looking up in the air and you’re seeing, just in the sky there, missile interceptions, and the camera panning down to people around the pool, just enjoying their holiday.”

He added: “Dubai is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. Lots of Brits go there. It’s the same in Abu Dhabi, they’ve been seeing interceptions over that area as well.”

The US and Israel launched a daylight att@ck across Iran, just days after Don@ld Tr.um.p warned Tehran “bad things” would happen should the regime not agree on a nuclear deal.

Israeli authorities report that the strikes were aimed at Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei, President Pezeshkian, and other top political and military leaders.

According to an Iranian source, several senior Iranian revolutionary guard commanders and political officials have been k!lled in the strikes. Explosions were reported in Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE and Qatar.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired missiles against US military bases in the Gulf in retaliation against the att@ck on Iran.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the country will use “all its defensive and military capabilities under legitimate right of self-defence”.
