Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and chief people officer Kristin Cabot have been the topic of conversation after the pair went viral for canoodling at a Coldplay concert this week. The incident thrust the software startup into the spotlight and caused great damage to its corporate reputation.
The video appears to show the Astronomer CEO holding his company’s chief people officer, Kristin Cabot, in his arms at a Boston Coldplay concert.
In the video, Byron is seen clutching Cabot from behind as the pair smiles, but things quickly change when Coldplay frontman Chris Martin can be heard saying, “Oh, look at these two,” as they appear on the jumbotron. Within seconds, Byron ducks his head below the camera, and Kristin turns around and hides her face. It is too late. They were caught.
The jokes have been flying, and they continued to fly.
Even Luke Bryan had to take a shot at them.
While performing at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, on Thursday as part of his Country Song Came On tour, the American Idol judge seemingly poked fun at the headlines stemming from a recent Coldplay show.
“We’re gonna shine our cameras on anybody,” Bryan said in response to Andy Byron and Cabot.
“Who’s here with their secretary tonight? Hey, it’s gotta be someone way up there.”

Poor Andy Byron.
The venue pans around to various audience members as Bryan continues to have fun with the internet’s latest obsession.
“Oh, yeah! There they are,” he said before he started playing portions of his song “Strip It Down.”
“Don’t get caught tonight!” he joked. “Do not get caught tonight.”
Andy Byron & Kristin Cabot Placed On Leave
Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR head Kristin Cabot are on leave and negotiating exit deals after their viral ‘kiss cam’ moment sparked backlash.
Axios reports, citing sources, that Cabot and Byron have been placed on immediate leave and are negotiating their departure.
