Good Morning Britain was halted on Wednesday as the ITV show had one last hurrah for a regular presenter. Susanna Reid confirmed that Andrew Pierce would not be returning after today, citing schedule clashes as the reason.

Towards the end of the episode, she announced: “It is the end of an era. The incredible chemistry between Andrew and Kevin [Maguire], we are putting on hold for now. Because, of course, we move over to a longer programme which means, Andrew, that we clash with your busy schedule.” He nodded his head in agreement as he replied: “You do, you clash with my show on GB News, which means this is my last time on Good Morning Britain.” He then pointed out that he and Susanna have worked together for a decade as he said: “We were doing this on the BBC together many years ago. However, Maguire and I will continue our double act because we have our own podcast.”

Kevin then pointed out some key moments in Andrew’s GMB career, recollecting covering an endless number of Prime Minister changes, the covid pandemic and a few personal key moments such as family deaths and weddings.

He then joked: “We will never forget you, Arnold thingie,” before they all burst out laughing.

Richard Madeley also chimed in as he said: “Well I don’t want to wish this on you Andrew, but I do hope that your other series is cancelled so that you can come back to us ASAP! We are going to miss you.”

Andrew said: “I will say goodbye to all of the viewers. I have had an amazing response.”

Susanna then shared that she had a goodbye of her own to make as she explained: “I’m saying goodbye for Christmas. I will see you next year.”

As from January, ITV’s Lorraine will air from 9.30am-10am instead of 9am-10am, meaning GMB will last for another 30 minutes each weekday morning.

Andrew originally announced his departure last week, writing on X: “End of an era. Last week on GMB with Susanna Reid as can’t do extra spot in extended show from January.

“But join me on my GB News show from 9.30am Monday to Thursday. Onwards, upwards.”
