They were suspected of having a jungle romance after the rapper said he had a ‘soft spot’ for the EastEnders actress.

But Aitch, 25, has finally cleared up what was happening between him and Shona McGarty, 34, during their three-week stint in the I’m A Celebrity camp.

When asked by the Daily Mail if there was anything romantic between them, he denied it and said: ‘Romantic, no, not at all, she’s a good friend of mine.

‘I just think we had a bond over the music thing, 95 per cent of the conversations we had in the Jungle was literally just about how sick she is at singing.

‘I knew that she was trying to come out of the Jungle and pursue a music career.

‘I think this is just because of my age, she had the same conversations with Martin, but no one’s going to say she had a romance with him because Martin is married.

‘So, unfortunately, I’m the next option.’

The rapper revealed that when they return to the UK, he will help introduce Shona to his music contacts.

He said: ‘Most of our conversations were me just telling her she sings so well and that she needs to stop being so scared and pursue singing.’

Fans were convinced there was a spark between the two campmates who were both recently single – Shona having ended a nine-year relationship with her fiance David Bracken and Aitch breaking it off with his girlfriend, Lois Cottam, weeks before the Jungle.

It comes after Ruby Wax told the Daily Mail: ‘Oh, he’s not her type at all. She likes a hunky man, bigger men, so that she feels female, that’s what she told me.

‘He was not on the list at all, and, their age difference.’

Ruby revealed she had spoken to the pair about the chance of them becoming a couple, ‘because I wanted them to get married,’ but she said it was a ‘no-go’.

In the first week, the Mancunian rapper told his friend Angry Ginge by the creek that he had a ‘soft spot’ for the actress, which sent I’m A Celeb fans into a tailspin.

Further still, when the pair were exiled with the likes of Martin Kemp, Kelly Brook and Tom Read Wilson to the Doomsville camp, it appeared their relationship was heating up.

The pair engaged in a close-contact pillow fight and had a discussion about each other’s eyes while staring into them.

The Daily Mail was told I’m A Celeb producers were ‘over-the-moon’ at the prospect of a Jungle romance and even longtime host, Ant McPartlin, encouraged the idea.

He said: ‘I love it. I just want to find love in the jungle.’
