Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy has lashed out at Ryan Clark following the latter’s attempt to dress Peter Schrager down on air last week.

Schrager was forced to call Clark out for trying to belittle him after he referred to him as a “non-player” during an argument about the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, who squared off in the NFL’s curtain raiser last Thursday.

Fresh off a controversial take that had fans calling for his firing, Clark appeared to invalidate his colleague’s take, suggesting that the fact that he never actually played dimmed his view of the subject.

He ultimately apologized for his comments, taking to X to publicly apologize and reveal that he had also done so privately.

“I value working with Peter and look forward to this season. My focus will remain on professionalism, teamwork, and being a better teammate moving forward,” he wrote.

Portnoy discussed the situation on his new FS1 show, ‘Wake Up Barstool’, on Monday, referring to Clark as an “all-time jerk” while speaking to former NBA star Jason Williams.

“Ryan Clark, who’s one of the all-time jerks in the history of mankind — he is a race-baiter, you can say that,” he said. “He is. The only time he’s in the news is when he’s picking fights and then apologizing…”

Portnoy continued…

“I get playing the game, but there are a lot of morons who played the game, and there are a lot of bad GMs who played football, there are a lot of bad coaches who played football….I appreciate you, J-Will, saying that you don’t have to play the game to have an opinion.”

While Ryan Clark seems to constantly put himself in a position where he has to apologize, we’re not sure that he’s one of the biggest jerks ever to exist. That was quite a stretch, especially for Portnoy, who went viral himself for belittling Barstool employee Kirk Minihane on camera back in June.

“Shut the f*** up you bald f***… You work for me, you little b****. You work for me,” he told Minihane, later refusing to apologize for it.
