Fans said it is ‘ridiculous’ that the changes have been made.

The BBC have reportedly pulled one Christmas special programme from this year’s scheduling. With just days to go until the festive viewings begin, the Mandy 2025 Christmas special, starring Diane Morgan, has allegedly been postponed for another year.
The show, titled The Mandy Who Knew Too Much, was supposed to go out late on Monday night (December 22) at 10.25pm, but has been swiftly taken off the air. The film Beetlejuice, which was originally scheduled for 10.45pm, has been brought forward in the schedule to replace Mandy. The reason for the change remains unclear, as the BBC had previously promoted it as one of its flagship Christmas specials for 2025. But, according to the British Comedy Guide, the programme will now air in 2026 instead, as the BBC reportedly wants to update parts of the episode before it is released.

According to reports, the festive special was already filmed at the start of 2025, along with the rest of the latest season. It has not been revealed what scene or scenes are being considered for edits.
However, fans have speculated why it may need some changes. Posting on X/Twitter, one fan said: “I wouldn’t be surprised if it was that there were some Trump jokes or something along those lines and they were scared of adding to the ‘lawsuit’.”
Another suggested: “Is it something that the BBC doesn’t want us to hear and laugh at? Does Dianne’s (character, Mandy) moan about the Labour Party? Donald Trump? Ex-Duke Of York?
“Come on, it’s a superb comedy! Isn’t comedy supposed to take risks & give us something to laugh and chat about!”
One more echoed: “That strongly suggests there is a joke or scene that is relevant to a recent event or something and they think it will ‘offend’ some. Ridiculous if the case.”
The episode’s synopsis says: “Mandy rarely dabbles in global diplomacy, especially over Christmas when it’s so cold out and there’s good telly on, but when she does, you can bet that she makes a real difference to the balance of power in the world.”
A BBC spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “The Mandy Christmas Special has been moved to 2026.”
