NFL Fans Are Calling Out The League Over Their Tribute To Charlie Kirk At Commanders-Packers TNF Game

The NFL and Roger Goodell were one of the few leagues that did not speak out following the tragic shooting death of Charlie Kirk.

They certainly answered the criticism in a big way during Thursday Night Football.

Kirk, a well-known conservative activist in the United States and staunch ally of President Donald Trump, was shot dead at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

A suspect has since been apprehended in that shooting death.

The NFL honored the conservative influencer with a trumpet-only rendition of the national anthem before the Green Bay Packers took on the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football.

Not many fans appreciated it.

Ashley Nicole Moss of CBS Sports commented, “Politics don’t belong in sports though, right?”

As many remember, there was a ton of fans who called for politics to stay out of sports when Colin Kaepernick kneeled during the Anthem.

“Not for 9/11. Not for children murdered at school. But for a regular guy (not even military) that spewed nothing but hate shielded behind the bible. I thought politics weren’t allowed in this sport?” a second person stated.

“Notice which politics are allowed in sports…,” a third person commented.

“Actually insane they did this for Charlie Kirk and NOT for 9/11 victims. wtf are we doing here…,” a final person added.

Charlie Kirk’s Killer Has Been Found

Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah man, is in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The suspected shooter confessed to a family member and is in custody. He was taken into custody after a family member contacted a family friend, who told authorities Robinson had “confessed to them or implied that he committed the incident.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, we got him,” Governor Spencer Cox said.

President Donald Trump first announced the suspect’s capture in an appearance on Fox and Friends on Friday morning.

A single gunshot killed the 31-year-old Kirk during an event that was part of his “American Comeback Tour” at Utah Valley University.

Kirk was answering an audience question about mass shootings when a single bullet struck his neck.
