I’m a Celebrity’s Angry Ginge issues apology to viewers in first stream back since jungle win

I’m a Celebrity’s Angry Ginge issued an apology to his Twitch viewers after leaving them for four weeks while in the ITV jungle.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here winner Angry Ginge made history while in the ITV jungle as he became the first ever social media star to be crowned king of the jungle.

The 24-year-old Twitch streamer has become a TikTok sensation during his content creation career, and he quickly became a fan favourite on the show after it was revealed that he won the popular programme with a huge 65 per cent of the vote, ahead of runner-up Tom Read Wilson with 35 per cent of the final vote.

After he couldn’t believe he was announced the winner, he told hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly: “I feel amazing. Honestly, (it is a) dream come true. I did not think I’d go all this way, never mind win, so thank you to everyone who voted.”

With three weeks spent in the jungle, Ginge returned to Manchester after digesting his jungle win. On Friday (December 12), the streamer also returned to Twitch in his first stream since leaving for the jungle.

As he appeared on camera with over 50,000 people watching, he said: “Oh, wow. It’s been a while. I just want to say, I booked a random flight, I did not expect to end up in the jungle!”

He added: “I have well and truly missed every single one of you, I really have. I didn’t just go to the jungle, I was crowned king of the jungle. How did that happen?!”

Ginge then issued an apology to viewers, as he said: “I am very sorry that I had four weeks off. I had a job to do. That’s why they call me the postman because I always deliver.”

Reflecting on when he found out he would be going in the jungle, he shared: “Let’s start at the beginning, about four months ago. After Soccer Aid when you all said to me, ‘what’s your next plan and we sat on stream’, I was in speaks about it since then, really.

“Obviously, I had to hide it and none of you had any idea that was going on. I think we hid it really well, not one of you had any idea that I was going on. It was mental.”

After landing at Manchester Airport, he found himself swarmed by eager fans who were waiting to greet the new king of the jungle, as he posed for pictures and signed autographs for everyone waiting.

Ginge beamed for the cameras as I’m a Celebrity campmate Lisa Riley stood by his side, arm in arm as they touched down back home after three weeks away.

The duo became close during their time in the jungle, with Ginge referring to Lisa as his “jungle mum” throughout tougher days that he faced while in camp. Fans praised Ginge after he became openly emotional and admitted that he had missed home.
