The Duke of Sussex has sparked controversy after his latest appearance.

Prince Harry has sparked a fierce backlash online after he was introduced as “Harry Wales” at an event this week. The Duke of Sussex, 41, was playing in St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship in Aspen, Colorado, just days ago.

The prince was reportedly playing after stepping in for a friend. He was on the Aspen Valley team.

While the act of playing polo was not controversial, the way Harry was introduced was, with the commentator introducing the duke as “Harry Wales”.

This is not Harry’s title, with the name Wales instead being used by Prince William – who is The Prince of Wales – and his family.

Harry only used the name Wales when his father King Charles was previously The Prince of Wales before he took to the throne.

The use of the name “Harry Wales” at the event this week also confused royal fans as Harry’s title, despite quitting royal life, remains The Duke of Sussex – a title he was given on his 2018 wedding day.

This is the title Harry typically uses at events to introduce himself.

Sharing a video of the moment Harry was called “Harry Wales” online, fans have shown fury about the situation.

One person wrote: “He’s no longer Wales!!!”

Another said: “He was Wales before, but that was when he was the son of the then Prince of Wales. Time has moved on and he is supposed to be Sussex now, but looks like he is still stuck in the past.”

Someone else wrote: “He’s not Harry Wales, though. William and Catherine’s children are Wales. He’s not one of them.”

Another royal fan commented: “This can’t be real.”
