GB News came to an abrupt halt for a breaking announcement on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Presenter Olivia Utley told viewers: “There’s some breaking news from the Palace. It’s been officially announced that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been stripped of all his remaining royal titles.”

“Goodness me,” Tom Harwood exclaimed as he turned to Cameron Walker, seeking clarification after assuming Andrew had already been stripped of all his royal titles. The royal correspondent explained: “Not quite, Tom. The Palace I think tried to do it quietly but it ended up in the London Gazette.

At midday today it was published that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been stripped, formally by the King of his Knight of the Garter honour, which is the oldest, most noble order of chivalry in Britain, something he acquired in 2006 by the late Queen.

“He’s also been stripped of his Knight of the Grand Cross of the Royal Victoria Order which is the highest order of knighthood in the UK.”

The presenter continued: “It’s more of a formality because we knew this was going to happen but it is another reminder that Andrew really has lost everything in terms of his royal titles, apart from the dukedom legally and formally because that does require an act of parliament to completely lose it.”

Cameron recognised that King Charles has done “all he can within his power” to remove everything he can from his brother.

Despite his disgrace, Andrew is still living at Royal Lodge, but it’s widely thought that this will be his final Christmas there.

The GB News star went on: “Early next year, we suspect Andrew will be formally kicked out of Royal Lodge and will move to a different house on the Sandringham Estate.”

Olivia then questioned how Andrew’s new home will be paid for, given he has no job and has been cut off from public funding.

Cameron explained: “The only money we absolutely know he has is his military pension. It is the King privately funding his living arrangements on the Sandringham Estate that’s not owned by the taxpayer. It is not even owned by the state. The Sandringham House is owned by the Windsor-Mountbatten family so it is the King that will be funding his brother privately.”
