At the end of Thursday’s (December 11) live programme, the pair revealed that they wouldn’t be seen on screen again until Christmas Eve.

“Alison and Dermot are back tomorrow and chaos will ensue because the Grinch is here,” Cat said.

Ben added: “Also, John Torode’s going to be in the kitchen with a tiramisu roulade,” before Cat shared: “And find out what happened when Alison met Kylie.”

Ben then bid a temporary farewell to ITV viewers, saying: “It’s going to be a cracking show. See you on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for more festive fun.”

It’s not yet known who will be taking over for Ben and Cat during next week’s shows.

In a festive first this year, Loose Women will join Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning in ITV Daytime’s Christmas Day schedule on ITV1 and ITVX.

Viewers can mark the festive occasion with GMB on December 25th, before joining Lorraine Kelly as she hosts a Christmas special. Cat, Ben, Alison and Dermot will continue the festive cheer with heartwarming surprises and big name celebrities on This Morning, along with some last minute tips for Christmas dinner disasters.

The Loose Women panel will then round off the morning line-up with several surprises, celebrity guests and festive fun.

Elsewhere on today’s This Morning, Ben celebrated his 51st birthday, with his co-host Cat sharing the news at the start of the show.

“It’s a very, very special day today, because it’s this young man’s birthday. Happy birthday to you!” Cat said.

She went on: “Ah I see, now you’ve done the 50 thing, you’re just going to fade off from here,” before Ben clarified: “Well, 50 seems exciting and a new decade. 51 does feel really old, [I just] want it to slow down a bit.”

Cat then said: “Like you’re just hurtling towards old age,” with Ben continuing: “I know! I’m nearly a pensioner.”

Later, the hosts interviewed Celebs Go Dating star Tom Read Wilson, just days after he came second in this year’s I’m A Celebrity.

That’s not all, as they also caught up with Martin Compston, who spoke about his new Paramount+ thriller The Revenge Club, as well as teasing the anticipated return of Line of Duty.
