Vito Coppola was seen being flooded with praise from Strictly Come Dancing fans after his and Ellie Goldstein’s latest appearance in the ballroom sparked concern.

The pair were among the 10 remaining couples in the BBC One dance show who were seen taking to the ballroom floor on Saturday night (November 1) as week six of the competition took place.

The show’s annual Halloween special opened with a skit featuring presenters Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly running away from the celebrity dancers, who had turned into zombies.

The hosts, who are both set to leave at the end of the current series, were then seen in the ballroom, introducing the judges who had gone all out with their costumes.

It was soon time for the celebrities and their professional dance partners to take to the dance floor, with them all seen donning their spookiest outfits as they performed to dramatic songs.

Among them, as mentioned, were Ellie and Vito as they performed the tango to Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra in a magic-themed performance, which saw the model and actress pulling her dance partner, dressed as a bunny, out of a hat.

They were seen scoring a total of 27 points out of a possible 40 points from the judges, which left them at the dangerous end of the leaderboard – and comes after their position in the running order sparked concern among Strictly fans.

Others, meanwhile, were quick to hail Vito for his teaching and partnership with Ellie, as he was seen adapting his performance for his partner, who is the first person with down’s syndrome to take part in the main series of Strictly.

People don’t realise how well Vito has worked with Ellie to get her to a great level. I love this couple and will be voting for them again #Halloween week. #Strictly.”
