Loose Women returned on Thursday (December 25) for a Christmas special. Christine Lampard hosted the ITV programme alongside fellow panellists Coleen Nolan, Jane Moore, Judi Love and Nadia Sawalha. Ahead of the King’s Christmas speech, Janet Street-Porter dished on the winners and losers of 2025 as the show was briefly interrupted for an on-air announcement about Prince Andrew.

Christine began: “Now it is one of the most anticipated telly moments of the year. No, I’m not talking about the King’s Christmas speech, although, of course, we’re looking forward to that, I’m referring to Janet Street-Porters’s Christmas speech”

The show cut away to Janet, 78, who was sat on a gold throne with a Christmas tree behind her.

She said: “Welcome everybody. Here’s my super condensed take on the highs and lows of 2025.”

While the ITV panellist praised the women’s England squad after winning the Euros before talk turned to the royals.

“Onto some losers of the year,” she began, “the royals had a turbulent 2025. King Charles took the unprecedented step to sack his brother Andrew from the Firm.”

She continued: “Downgrading him for Prince to plain old Mr Mountbatten-Windsor overnight. Andrew and Fergie are also having to move out of Royal Lodge.”

Her comments come after former Prince Andrew now Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his royal titles and forced out of Royal Lodge.

Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson have received significant fallout amid their association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Meanwhile, viewers issued a similar complaint after Loose Women aired.

One fumed: “Why is Loose Women on at Christmas? Why not put a Christmas movie instead? #loosewomen #itv #christmas #christmasday.”

Another commented: “ITV will be lucky to have one show in the top ten viewing figures for today #loosewomen.”

While a third mused: “I enjoyed it.”
