Michelle Keegan says ‘it’s a wrap’ as she prepares for major TV return after ‘special’ update

Michelle Keegan has declared it a ‘wrap’ on her next big drama as she prepares to make her TV return in the New Year, which comes after a ‘special’ first Christmas with her baby girl.

It was previously revealed that she would be making a return to ITV, more than 17 years after she made her debut on the channel in the role of Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street.

She is set to star in a “compelling” new drama after her Netflix success last year. Michelle will be starring as DI Emma Crane in new ITV crime drama, In The Blame. Her character will investigate the death of a teenage figure skater, starring alongside Douglas Booth as DI Tom Radley.

The synopsis teases: “What starts as a tragic death in the quiet town of Wakestead, spirals into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups, and moral compromise as DI Crane (Keegan) and DI Radley (Booth) dig deeper”.

Produced by Quay Street Productions, the six-part drama, based on the debut novel by Charlotte Langley, is based on the debut novel of the same name by Charlotte Langley.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (December 17), Michelle shared a number of behind-the-scenes snaps, including one of her and co-star Nathan Mensah, who plays DC Lewis, holding a clapper board, before showing the team partying as filming drew to a close.

In the caption of the post, the actress penned to her 7.5 million followers: “The final week filming The Blame. ‘IT’S A WRAP!’” And fans were quickly excited about what’s ahead.

It comes as Michelle and her husband Mark Wright are preparing for their first festive season as a family of three, having announced their big pregnancy news last December. The couple later announced they’d welcomed their daughter into the world on March 12, a week after she was born, confirming they’d chosen the name Palma Elizabeth Wright for their baby girl.

Alongside a black and white photo of them holding their newborn’s tiny hand on Instagram, Michelle and Mark, both 38, told their millions of followers on March 12: “Together we have a new love to share … Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright… 06.03.25.”

Last month, Michelle and Mark have revealed they are in the Christmas spirit already as they shared a look at the way they have transformed their Essex abode into a winter wonderland.

Alongside a video showing off the incredible decorations on their dedicated home Instagram account, Wrighty Home, the pair wrote: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year, an extra special one for us this time. Thank you @4.seasonevents for bringing the magic to our home again.”
