I’m A Celebrity(Image: I’m A Celebrity star Shona McGarty has been ‘rumbled’ over a ‘huge lie’ about Kelly Brook as fans took to social media to express their shock.

The EastEnders actress, who played Whitney Dean on the BBC soap from 2008 until last year, has been a hit among fans of the ITV soap. Shona is one of ten celebrities who has been in the Australian jungle since day one, with Vogue Williams and Tom Read Wilson joining later on.

Having released her debut single Unapologetically Me just weeks before flying to Australia, Shona was recently seen delivering a thunderous performance of Tina Turner’s Proud Mary, which went down a storm with her campmates.

One major talking point has been romance rumours linking her with Manchester rapper Aitch, who she appears to have the closest relationship with in the camp. Prior to entering the jungle, Shona broke up with her musician fiancé, David Bracken, earlier this year

Aitch was previously seen confessing his feelings about Shona to Angry Ginge, who he’s a friend with away from the programme, at the end of last week, admitting: “I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Shona, me.”

Despite them being close, camp leader Aitch, along with his deputy Ginge, made the decision to put Shona and Loose Women’s Kelly on water duty. The job requires the stars to fill up large basins and pans full of water and transport them back to camp.

However, comedian Ruby Wax and Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley have caught Shona out after she said that she was pulling her part. In reality, Kelly was lifting the heavy containers full of water by herself.

A clip shown on Tuesday night’s (November 25) edition of spin-off series I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked showed Kelly saying she ‘got a sweat on’ with Shona nowhere to be seen as she embarked on the physically demanding job.

Just days after being exposed as one of the stars who brought contraband into camp, Ruby directly asked Shona if she was on water duty, to which she replied yes.

“I didn’t think you were on water duty. You weren’t seen. I didn’t see you on water duty,” Ruby said. Lisa added: “What, you thought it was just Kelly on water duty? Yep.”

Trying to defend herself, Shona claimed she was ‘doing the weights’ to generate the water and maintained that she had been ‘up the stairs’. Refusing to back down, Ruby told Lisa that she ‘never saw Shona do the water’.

With Lisa ‘totally with’ Ruby on the matter, Shona expressed her issues with the task in the Bush Telegraph, saying: “I think Kelly’s getting on really well. Every time I turn around, there’s new water on the boil. She’s smashing it. But I… ugh, it’s all that heavy lifting.”

A separate clip played on the show made co-host Kemi Rodgers say ‘oh my goodness’ as Kelly trekked through the camp with the water as Shona lay sound sleep. Kemi’s fellow presenter Joel Dommett noted: “Oooh. That was a great clip. It’s mad that she’s been rumbled.”

Those who were watching Unpacked rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on if a major feud may be on the way after over a week of harmony between the campmates.
