Strictly’s Amber Davies admits ‘I am heartbroken’ as she’s supported ahead of final fight

Amber Davies has said she is ‘heartbroken’ as she thought about her Strictly Come Dancing journey coming to an end.

The actress and West End star has this week been preparing to compete in the semi-final of the BBC One dance contest, which takes place live this Saturday night (December 13), alongside professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin.

The pair almost missed out on continuing their journey, after going up against actor Lewis Cope and his pro dance partner Katya Jones in the latest dreaded dance-off during last Sunday’s (December 7) results show, with a place in the penultimate week of the competition at stake.

After both couples had reprised their performances from Saturday night’s (December 6) Musicals Week special, the judges unanimously voted to save Amber and Nikita, leaving Lewis and Katya having to say their goodbyes, which came as a huge shock to Strictly fans and has cruelly led to Amber being subject to backlash.

But drowning out the noise, Amber and Nikita have been busy rehearsing not one, but tow dances which they’ll perform this weekend in the hopes of making it through to Strictly’s 2025 final, which takes place on December 20.

Taking to TikTok as their time in the training room came to an end on Thursday (December 11) before heading into the studio on Friday (December 12), Amber shared a video alongside the caption: “I started this journey with 24 hours notice.. and now I’m looking at the calendar wishing there was another 12 weeks left to go.

“Whether we get to the final or not, I am heartbroken this has to end!! Dancing every day, learning every day has given me a whole new lease of life. It’s been a dream come true honestly from start to finish. Thank you @BBC Strictly @Nikita Kuzmin.”

She also shared the video to her Instagram Story and said: “Final rehearsal for the semi-finals is complete @nikita_kuzmin. The greatest experience of my life.”

It comes after Amber and Nikita appeared on Strictly: It Takes Two on Wednesday (December 10) and host Janette Manrara asked how she’s handled the negative comments following the elimination.

Amber replied: “I would like to think I have thick skin, but obviously, this week’s been tougher than usual. I’d just like to remind everybody that I was never supposed to be here. I was a quick replacement and I am just doing my best. The love is actually more overpowering than the hate. So if you have sent a message or a kind comment our way, then we really do appreciate it so much.”
