Graham Norton takes SCATHING swipe at I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! cast weeks ahead of Ant and Dec’s return to screens

Graham Norton has taken a savage swipe at I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and admitted that he would only ever agree to appear on the show if he was desperate for cash.

The host, 62, said a jungle appearance would be such a money grab for him that he wouldn’t even take part in Bushtucker Trials and that he’d happily let his campmates ‘𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘷𝘦’.

He made the revelation to Maria McErlane on their Wanging On podcast after she asked him if there was any chance he’d sign up for the jungle experience of a lifetime.

Graham said: ‘One day when my roof blows off or a big tax bill comes and I have to do I’m A Celebrity!’

‘You know cos I think there comes a time in most people’s lives when they kind of go “I’m going to have to do that, I’m going to have to say yes to that for the money.”

‘I’m going to go, “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!” within a second of every single challenge, and let them 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘷𝘦 – I don’t care! I don’t want to resurrect my career, I just want a quick injection of cash, that’s all I want.’

Ahead of this year’s return to the Australian jungle, speculation has been heating up about the famous faces who could be a part of the line-up.

Rumoured names include former EastEnders star Shona McGarty, 33, with a source telling The Sun: ‘Jungle bosses have been keen to sign up the soap queen for ages.

‘Shona is Walford royalty and hugely popular with TV viewers, she’s got bags of charisma and producers think she’ll be a great campmate.

‘Plus fans haven’t seen much of her away from Enders, so I’m A Celeb will be an opportunity for her to show a completely different side to her personality.

‘Show bosses are already talking to some brilliant names for the new series.’

Another possible celeb who could be taking on Bushtucker Trials this year is Kelly Brook, who said she is asked if she’d like to go the jungle ‘every year’ and has found producers’ enthusiasm ‘flattering’.

‘They ask me every year to do it. Listen, who knows, I think I would be camp and fun and I’d have a laugh.

‘I wouldn’t want to cook if we did go in there as I’m not a***d about that. But no I’m not, they’ve asked me for seven years now – every single year.’

However, Kelly admitted that her filming schedule on Emmerdale would likely prevent her from taking part.

The actress added: ‘I am obviously filming Emmerdale and being Mandy Dingle – I can’t put my tabard down!

‘If I went in the jungle, I’d need my tabard with me.’

Graham Norton’s comments about celebrities going into the jungle to boost their profiles is all the more eye-popping after Katie Price claimed that Peter Andre was encouraged to purse a relationship with her for fame.

The former glamour model, 47, who was known as Jordan in her Page 3 days, said she saw emails to Peter from his PR manager that said ‘if you stick with Jordan she’ll make your career’.

The start date for the latest season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has yet to be announced
