GB News presenters Tom Harwood and Dawn Neesom halted the channel’s usual programming to bring some breaking news relating to the 𝘈𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 at a Manchester synagogue at Heaton Park in October. “We have some breaking news for you, so we’re going to go straight to Mark White,” Dawn said as they cut to their colleague, who was in the studio with them.

“Greater Manchester Police now confirming to us that a 31-year-old man has been arrested at Manchester Airport in connection with the terror 𝘈𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 at Heaton Park Hebrew congregation synagogue, in which, of course, we know, two people were killed. The third person, the 𝘈𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬er, Jihad Al Shami, was killed by armed police at the scene. Now this 31-year-old man was detained on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism after arriving on an inbound flight,” he reported. “It brings the total number of people arrested in connection with that synagogue 𝘈𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 to seven,” he confirmed.

 

“We’ve had a statement from Assistant Chief Constable Rob Potts, who holds the operational responsibility for Counter Terrorism policing in the northwest.

“He said, at around midday to the officers from counter terrorism policing Northwest arrested a 31-year-pold man in connection with the appalling terrorist 𝘈𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 that took place at the Heaton Park Hebrew congregation synagogue.

“The man was arrested at Manchester Airport after arriving on an inbound flight and has been taken into custody for questioning.

 

“The loved ones of Mr. Dalby and Mr. Cravitz, the two innocent victims at the synagogue 𝘈𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 have been updated on this development as were those who were injured.

“The statement goes on to say, ‘Our investigation is continuing, and I would once again appeal for anyone with information that they think could assist our inquiries to please come forward.’

“It gives a little bit more detail about the previous arrest,” he continued. “But the breaking news this hour is that confirmation from Greater Manchester Police that a 31-year-old man is coming into Manchester from an inbound flight.

“We don’t have any details of where this flight was coming from. He was detained on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.

“He is in police custody at this hour in connection with that appalling 𝘈𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 on the synagogue at the beginning of October.”
