VIDEO: Comedian Shane Gillis Ended Caitlin Clark’s Career With Nasty Low Blow At The ESPYS

Comedian Shane Gillis spared no one in his ESPY Awards opening monologue on Wednesday night, and Caitlin Clark found herself at the butt of a joke.
At one point, Gillis commented on Clark, saying, “When Caitlin Clark retires, she’s going to work at a Waffle House so she can continue doing what she loves most, fist fighting black women.”
The joke received a lukewarm reaction from the Dolby Theatre crowd.
Clark was involved in many dust-ups in 2025, most notably when she and Angel Reese almost fought on the court.
She has also had issues with Chennedy Carter, DiJonai Carrington, and Marina Mabrey.

Caitlin Clark is out for Wednesday’s game against the New York Liberty.
The Indiana Fever star was listed as questionable earlier Wednesday after suffering an injury late in Tuesday night’s win over the Connecticut Sun in Boston.
Clark showed visible discomfort after throwing a bounce pass to Kelsey Mitchell for a basket with 39 seconds left. As she turned around, she grabbed her right groin area, her eyes welling up in tears.
Following a timeout, Clark walked over to the stanchion, hit her head against it, then walked to the Fever’s bench, still holding the area. She was visibly crying.
