A Sky News presenter was caught swearing live on air, as she didn’t think that the cameras were rolling. During the breakfast show, hosted by Anna Jones and Kamali Melbourne, Sky’s Arts and Entertainment Correspondent Katie Spencer made a huge blunder.
She was discussing the latest allegations to hit children’s author David Walliams, which included inappropriate behaviour towards female staff members, as the error unfolded live on air. While reading off a script, she seemed to stumble her words before deciding to start over. Katie declared: “Oh f*** it I’m going to start again,” before adding: “Do not ever air me saying the f-word.” The camera then went back to the studio, where Anna and Kamali were looking dubfounded. They quickly issued an apology for the mishap. Raising his eyebrows, Kamali told viewers: “Yeah, so, apologies if you heard any bad language there – we will check that out.”

Trying to lighten the mood, he then turned to Sky’s sports presenter Jacquie Beltrao and said: “But Jacquie’s joined us – no bad language, Jacs.”
Beltrao replied without missing a beat, saying: “No bad language from me!”
Fans at home seemed to been hugely amused by the blunder. Taking to X/Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Sky News’ Katie Spencer had a little whoopsie on live TV. The face on the bloke at the desk …. PRICELESS. The perils of live TV.”
However, others were a bit peeved. “Schoolboy error from the reporter though. Never swear on camera, ever, live or not,” one said.
One more complained: “‘Apologies if you heard any bad language.’ You literally had to be deaf not to hear any bad language.”
The 58-year-old author and comedian is no longer an ambassador for The Children’s Trust, the organisation has confirmed.
Walliams began working with the charity in January 2018, but it has now emerged that the relationship ended earlier this year.
A spokesperson said: “After a review of our ambassador programme earlier in the year, David Walliams is no longer an ambassador of The Children’s Trust.”
