Good Morning America has been part of ABC since 1975. Viewers have seen it go through a variety of changes over the years, from different anchors to different studios.

Recently, the Good Morning America co-anchors had big news to share with fans on social media. Taking to Instagram, they shared a warm welcome to a new member of the ABC News family.

A caption read, “We’re excited to officially welcome @ABCMiami18 to the ABC News family!” The post was also shared by ABC News and ABC Miami 18’s own Instagram accounts.

In an accompanying clip, George Stephanopoulos shared, “Hey, ABC Miami, welcome to our big family!” This started off a montage of figures, including other local news anchors, welcoming ABC Miami onto the team. Robin Roberts also shared, “Welcome to the ABC News family! We love South Florida.”

According to 7 News WSVN, Susi D’Ambra Coplan, SVP of Affiliate Relations, Disney Entertainment, shared in a statement, “We are incredibly excited to join forces with Sunbeam Television in South Florida moving forward as they not only share Disney’s enduring commitment to serving local communities. But they also recognize the value of ABC’s esteemed brand and the significant investments we’re making to our world-class network content.”

Good Morning America has seen quite a few changes over the past few months. Previously, head stagehand and prop master Gary Minor announced his retirement from the show, earning an emotional reaction from the co-anchors at the time.

The long-running talk show has also changed filming locations. This year marked the move from Times Square Studios, which had been the show’s home since 1999, to Studio C in 7 Hudson Square.
