Conversation Between Michael Strahan and Lulu Gribbin on Good Morning America

Michael Strahan:
“Lulu, thank you for joining us today. Can you share with our audience what it was like to experience such a terrifying accident?”

Lulu Gribbin:
“Of course, Michael. In June 2024, while swimming at a beach near my home, I was attacked by a shark. I lost both of my legs and my left arm. It was a moment I will never forget. Thankfully, the rescue team arrived quickly, and I was taken to the hospital for treatment.”

Michael Strahan:
“That’s absolutely horrifying! How did you manage to overcome such a traumatic experience, both physically and mentally?”

Lulu Gribbin:
“After my recovery, I realized I didn’t want this accident to define my life. I began participating in adaptive sports like swimming, wheelchair basketball, and hiking. I also became involved in community efforts to raise awareness about swimming safety and advocated for a shark attack alert system to protect others.”

Michael Strahan:
“You are truly inspiring. What message would you like to share with people facing major challenges in their own lives?”

Lulu Gribbin:
“I want everyone to know that no matter how difficult life gets, we all have the strength within us to overcome it. The key is to never give up and to keep hope and courage alive.”
