Prince Harry will face the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday in court early next year.

Prince Harry has been warned about the costly “consequences” of his £38 million privacy case against the Daily Mail amid spiralling legal fees. The Duke of Sussex is one of seven high-profile figures suing the publishers of the Mail and Mail on Sunday over alleged unlawful information gathering dating back decades, something the Associated Newspaper group denies.

The case, which has been ongoing since 2022, is expected to go to full trial in January, but the prince and his fellow claimants have been issued a warning over the substantial costs they would be liable to pay in the event of a defeat.

Harry, alongside Sir Elton John, the actress Sadie Frost and others, are collectively insured for £14.1 million to meet the “totality” of Associated Newspapers’ costs, but some of them also obtained individual policies worth £2.35 million, complicating the financial picture if they don’t all prove to be successful.

Judges David Cook and Mr Justice Nicklin said the estimated £38.8 million costs of the case were “clearly outside the range of the reasonable”.

They added: “It is imperative that the parties and in particular the individual claimants have the clearest possible understanding as to the consequences of the way in which this litigation is being conducted…Substantial costs have already been incurred and the parties will soon be incurring more substantial costs in preparation for the trial next year.”

Prince William presented with enormous cake to mark major milestone

Celebrations were in order for Prince William on Tuesday morning as he marked the 20th anniversary of his time as Patron of Centrepoint. The homelessness charity, which was famously supported by Diana, Princess of Wales, welcomed William to tour their new offices in London to honour the milestone.

During his visit, the Prince grinned as he received a giant purple cake from baker Juliet Sear, before joining staff and young people who have supported the charity over the years. He then joined the team to create a new ‘Wall of Hope’ mural, which has been co-designed by artist Lanré Olagoke MBE.

Prince Harry just ruined his chance at ending feud with Royal Family – why did he do it?

Prince Harry, you’ve done it again. When hopes of reconciliation and improved relationships with your royal relatives are in clear view, why do you have to do something to push it all away?

Just months ago, the Duke of Sussex seemed to be well on his way to healing the turbulent relationship he has had with his father, King Charles, over recent years. While their September meeting was very brief, it seemed to be successful, with Harry openly showing signs of optimism about returning to the UK to see his father again, and potentially with his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, too.

While the relationship may have taken a positive turn, I can’t imagine Harry’s most recent comments about the royals will have gone down well.

Meghan humiliated on her own doorstep as she’s given ‘hypocrite’ award

Meghan Markle has been humiliated by a festive display just up the road from her mansion in Los Angeles after it dubbed her a “holiday hypocrite” and “villain of the year”.

The Duchess of Sussex is among a number of celebrities named in the provocative exhibit, which was unveiled in the window of fashion retailer Kitson, between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, this month.

Alongside other “villains” including California governor Gavin Newsom, George Clooney and Katy Perry, the display pokes fun at Meghan by surrounding a photo of her with news headlines from the last 12 months.

They include accusations that the mum-of-two “won’t let go of her royal status”, that she and husband Prince Harry are “disliked by Americans”.
