Strictly fans ‘burst out crying’ after Dianne Buswell move some may have missed

Strictly Come Dancing fans said they ‘burst out crying’ after spotting a nod to Dianne Buswell’s pregnancy that some viewers may have missed.

The professional dancer was back on the dance floor for the last time this series as the 2025 run of the BBC One dance contest came to an end on Saturday night (December 20). But it was also the final time she appeared in the ballroom before becoming a mother having competed in this year’s series while pregnant.

Those who follow the popular programme will know that Dianne, who was crowned Strictly champion last year alongside comedian Chris McCausland, returned to the hit show this year and was partnered with Australian actor, Stefan.

Despite showing early promise, Dianne and Stefan, who is famed for playing Paul Robinson in Neighbours, had their time in the competition cut short after an injury to his calf. But, they were reunited during the grand final as Strictly’s ‘Class of 2025’ performed one last joyous group number.

During her and Stefan’s section, the pair were Stefan’s time on Neighbours, which sadly came to another end recently, by framing the couple as though they were in the title credits for the soap, before they performed to Rick Astley’s ‘Together Forever’. But fans noticed another little tribute to Dianne’s pregnancy, as the words that came up on the screen read: “Starring Stefan, Dianne and Bump!”

And the move left Strictly fans feeling emotional. @flickersuggs said: “‘and bump’ is the moment i BURSTED OUT CRYING oh my god im a wreck #strictly.” @holdingontomeg commented: “Stop it right now thats SO precious #Strictly.” @xlouclifton96x wrote: “So happy to see stefan, dianne and bump back on the #strictly dancefloor.”

@cillschlo posted: “Dianne and bump stop it right now #strictly.” @dairylyf shared: “Why have i almost just cried at then putting and bump on Diane’s dance #Strictly.” @thatsmypeachx typed: “Dianne and bump I’m sobbing!! #Strictly.” @Sazkelly1 added: “Starting stefan, Dianne and bump… I could sob #Strictly.”

Dianne and Joe, who met on Strictly back in 2018, announced in September they were expecting their first child together, seven years after they made it to the competition’s final before being beaten by fellow lovebirds Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton.

They shared the happy news in an adorable announcement video on social media, in which the parents-to-be could be seen in a clip standing behind a wooden easel with paint and paintbrushes as they got to work on their masterpiece.

The playful clip, set to the iconic Elton John track, Tiny Dancer, then saw the couple painting, before they turned the canvas around to reveal three stick figures – one of Dianne, one of Joe and a baby in the middle of them. They then captioned their post: “Our little baby boy [heart emoji]. We cannot wait to meet you.”
