News halted for breaking news update in major Heathrow airport 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬

The morning news programme came to a screeching halt as host Camilla Tominey revealed the latest update.

GB News host Camilla Tominey brought the news programme to a halt for a fresh breaking news announcement during her morning show. On Sunday morning (December 7), the broadcaster announced that a man had been arrested on suspicion of assault after several people were 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬ed with what is believed to be a form of pepper spray. Sharing the information so far, she revealed that the 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 happened “at a multi-story car park at Heathrow Airport Terminal 3.”

The Met Police have since issued a statement on the 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬, which read: “We were called to the scene at 8.11am after reports of multiple people being assaulted at a multi-storey car park at Terminal 3. A number of people were sprayed with what is believed to be a form of pepper spray by a group of men who then left the scene.”

Heathrow Airport also released a statement on the 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 on X, which read: “Our teams are currently responding to an incident involving the emergency services in the Terminal 3 multi-storey car park. Passengers are advised to allow extra time when travelling to the airport and to check with their airline for any queries.”

London Ambulance Service treated the victims at the scene before taking them to hospital, but the broadcaster went on to reassure viewers that the victims’ injuries are “not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing” at this stage.

The Met also reassured viewers that this incident was sparked by an argument between a group of people who knew each other and, as such, isn’t being treated as a terror 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬.

Commander Peter Stevens said: “At this stage, we believe the incident involved a group of people known to each other, with an argument escalating and resulting in a number of people being injured. We are not treating this incident as terrorism. I understand the public’s concern and would like to thank those in the area for their cooperation this morning.”

Now, more than three hours after the incident occurred, the airport has announced that Terminal 3 is fully open, although some traffic disruptions persist around the airport’s road tunnels and spurs. Armed response officers and other emergency services attended the incident at the multi-storey car park, leading to the temporary closure of the M4 spur and the suspension of some rail services.

All road and rail lines have now reopened, but passengers are advised to allow extra time. Commander Stevens confirmed: “There will be an increased police presence at Heathrow Airport throughout the morning, to continue enquiries and ensure the safety of those in the area.”
