Amber Davies has hit back as she addressed a decision about her next live Strictly Come Dancing appearance that is out of her control.

The actress and West End star recently issued a plea to those following the BBC One dance contest to ‘be kind’ after she faced backlash to keeping her place in the competition over fellow actor, Lewis Cope.

Fans of the popular programme saw Amber and her professional partner Nikita Kuzmin, and Lewis and his pro dance partner Katya Jones, face the latest dreaded dance-off during Sunday’s (December 7) results show, where they had to fight stay in the competition ahead of the semi-final.

After both couples had reprised their performances from Saturday night’s (December 6) Musicals Week special, the judges unanimously voted to save Amber and Nikita, leaving Lewis and Katya having to say their goodbyes in what came as a huge shock to Strictly fans.

The results of the dance-off saw Amber face backlash, which both she and Lewis have addressed and called for it to stop. “Guys, please.. It’s really just a television show. I wasn’t even supposed to be in the comp,” Amber commented. “You have no idea what we put our mind and body through for this experience.. I’m really just trying my best with the opportunity that came to me. To anyone who has left a NICE comment, thank you.”

After she also paid tribute to Lewis, the former Emmerdale star shared: “This is very beautiful, you have a heart of gold and I am super grateful I got to share this experience with you. Thank you for being such a good friend. Congratulations on getting through, you deserved it. keep going! I will be cheering you on.”

Now, Amber has been forced to hit back again after social media was flooded with complaints that one of her two dances set to be performing during this Saturday’s (December 13) semi-final will be a Couple’s Choice routine to Fly Me to the Moon by RAYE.

As some branded the decision ‘unfair’ so close to the final, Amber clapped back: “Before anyone comes for me for the couples choice pls remember Nikita’s dance style order was chosen before I ever entered the competition.”

The former Love Island winner also shared a video to her Instagram Story following a long day of rehearsals and said directly to the camera: “Hello guys, I just wanted to put a message on her because a lot of noise has gone on on social media, and is going on. But I’ve had a lot of people, amazing people, kind people, who don’t even know me, and people who do know me asking, ‘Are you ok?’ and I promise, I’m literally fine.

“I’m so lucky to be in the semi-finals and get to continue to work hard. We’ve had a really long day today. I’m literally on my way home now but you know, the world wouldn’t go round if everyone liked everyone so it’s going straight over my head. So do not worry! We’ve got a Couple’s Choice and Tango – and they’re both so polar opposite! I can’t wait for Saturday and thank you if you have messaged, I appreciate it so much.
